Close Range Measurement is usually made by stereo camera which two cameras are fixed with known distance.

But this system tends to be complicating since it requires calibration of camera position and synchronization of two cameras, and it is expensive.
Single Camera version of PhotoCalc, however, can calculate 3D position by one
camera, so it is affordable and nothing special is required except target for
certain cases. SingleView3D can be used for 3D inspection of object and for tracking object.

Real time calculation of 5 point positions in the same plane, and distance from camera.
One set of general webcamera is used for this calculation.
The 3D position of targets attached to probe can be detected and used as 3D digitizer. Get the position of probe tip and show its locus.
The 3D position of an object is calculated by its shape and color in an image.

By taking an image of two control bars together, the present camera position is obtained and
the camera position can be traced. If multiple cameras are used, the position of
moving object can be detected as GPS.

Attach targets to robot and detect the position of particular point.
If the dimension of an object is known, the robot can know the position and the direction to the object.
Get characteristic points of an object in 3D and compare them with database
to identify person or
